I am mesmerized by the human brain, the thought process of each and every one of us is different in some way shape or form. Some slightly different, some completely different.
The ways that we react to any given situation can depend on many different variables. Some of these are, the mood we are in when a situation arises, the preconceived notions we may have of the situation or of the people themselves that are involved in the situation ,and our own perception of the situation. Any or all of these areas can have an impact on the way we react to situations that require our attention or response. When there are multiple people involved the reactions of others can also have an impact. We are all very complex although we can seem simple, or naive on the outside we all have perplex minds that can be very challenging to understand.
What's inside your brain? My mind wants to know.
A wee little gerbil...He likes to eat mint chocolate truffles and he listens to metal while he runs in ever increasingly tight circles!
ReplyDeleteYet it is quite rare that a person is awake enough and transparent enough to have a real clue who they themselves are. One of the advantages to recovery is that it facilitates a measure of awakening even though we understand that self knowledge, one result of awakening, is not enough by far.
ReplyDeleteIt turns out that the kind of transparency that is required for allowing sufficient power for recovery to enter us is precisely the state that allows awakening to occur. So awakening often happens, although we also see that it doesn't always happen.
As a fine example of awakening, you could never have posted like this before you began the journey that we share even if you had encountered this kind of awareness back then.
Love you, Jennifer.
Haha brother, I can just see that lil hamster in your head.
ReplyDeleteChristopher, yes I suppose you are correct about having such introspect and the willingness to share that introspect due to the journeys myself and others like us have trudged. I think what puiqed my curiosity in this particular situation was that I know( for the most part) how my own brain/mind processes things, I don't however live inside the minds of others. I sometimes wonder how others come to the conclusions/decisions in curtain situations that they do. What path does their metaphoric hamster take to get from point A to point B? Love you too Christopher:)
The path from point
ReplyDeleteA
To point
B
Is long and windie
First you picture a thought as an arrow
Scratch that
An arrow is straight isn’t it?
Getting back to the thought
Picture a yard stick
Those are three feet long
Right?
And three feet is thirty six inches
But you should know that already
Stop distracting me!
Like I said before and without any
Distractions
The path from point
A
To point
B
Is long and windie
And If I thought you would pay attention
I would lay it out for you...
