Words

Words they flow
Like silky ribbons through my mind
They saunter slowly to the left
Then whip quickly back with a snap
These words are mine
Ribbons of time
They flow so swiftly
Rhythmically they crescendo and decrescendo over and over
They topple over themselves and land in a heap
Then I blow life into them
Let them flow freely again
As paper meets pen
These words
These ribbons of time
From heart and from mind
These words are mine and I will share them...in time. :)

The Rooster and The Farmer

There once was a rooster.
He was head of the hen house.
Master of his domain.
His life was good.
'However' he pronounced 'It would be even better if that know it all Farmer would listen to me'
His friend said to him ' I don't know about that. The Farmer seems to have done well by us. Besides what do you hope to gain?'
' I would be bigger, and better in no time if he would just listen and feed me more!' Stated the Rooster.
Day after day the farmer would bring out the feed, and day after day the Rooster would say ' I would get bigger faster if you just gave me more ' until one day the farmer started feeding the rooster more, and more, and then more often as well. The rooster did grow, and quickly. The rooster puffed up his chest, strutted around and said to the farmer 'See I was right! I told you and you just wouldn't listen. Now I am 3 times the size I was, and in half the time. Cockadoodledoo !'
The farmer then reached over, grabbed the axe and chopped of the rooster's head. ' Guess it doesn't really matter who was right now does it' said the farmer.
Moral of the story, we don't always know what's best for us. It pays to listen to others, and think of the end result.:)
