The Block

The Block

Oh where, oh where
Has my little muse gone.
Oh where, oh where
Can she be.
With her eyes so bright,
And soul so strong
Oh where, oh where can she be.
A nearly debilitating mind cramp has stolen her.
Whisked her away.
I search deep.
Wanting so badly to find the words and let them flow.
Without her they refuse to go.
What is that in the shadows of my heart?
I see a glimpse of her.
Will you come out to play?
Just one word she grants me, as a reward for searching, and then she hides again.
She lays in wait for me to search,
To seek her out.
Yet I am weary from my travels through the heart.
I must rest a bit, clear my mind.
I taunt her,
Oh where, oh where
Has my little muse gone?
Oh where, oh where
Can she be?
With her eyes so bright,
And soul so strong,
Oh where, oh where can she be?
There, I see her!
There she is!
Curled up in a tiny little ball.
Hiding so quietly at the very center of my tangled up brain.
She's happy to be found.
She was beginning to wonder if she ever would be.
She is so elated in fact that she dances her happy, tiny feet across my mind.
Tossing words out of her little basket as she goes round and round.
I run behind her to gather all the trinkets.
Now to piece them together,
How sweetly they begin to flow,
Like a babbling brook of sugar water.
Oh what relief, finally!
Thank you my little muse
Thank you!
